I have sold my first two cakes! It is really exciting, but now I have to make some business cards. Apparently it is a little more challenging to get your info out there without them. Anyway. My first cake was a Pizza cake. It was rather fun, and the people at Ryan's work thought it was a real pizza- so yay me!
The second cake was for the same woman, but this was a Houston Sports Teams cake for her hubby. This one took a little more creativity, but I was excited to use an idea I got from one of Ryan's magazines.
It is fun to be able to create something from cake, and also have it taste really great. I'm always looking for new ways to add to my skills- so I may be joining a cake club. There is the Pearland Cake Society which meets once a month. I went last week, and it was neat. I met the VP of the club at Michael's the night I was making the pizza cake. She is really nice and fun, and a great source of info and ideas. Hopefully May's meeting will be a good one, and I'll decide then if I want to join. They at least are opening my eyes to a whole other world out there, and if I learn new stuff all the better.
