First trip to the Beach!

Last weekend Ryan had 4 days off, so we took advantage and headed to the beach on Friday before the Memorial Day crowd got there. Granted it wasn't soft white beaches like Florida, but there were shells, waves, and birds (Maggie's favorite part!). Maggie took a while to warm up to the water. She kept running out to it, but when a wave would come in she would cry and run back. She didn't quite get that the water could move back and forth. She also took a while to get used to picking up the shells. She would point them out, and tell me to get them, but when she would touch it and sand got on her she freaked. The child is a little OCD about her hand cleanliness (gets it from her dad, I SWEAR!) All in all, it was nice. We stayed for about an hour, then had lunch at a place on the Seawall. I think we will make it a regular trip this summer. It is nice to have the Jeep right there, and not lug everything around.
