Such a Merry Christmas!

Maggie leaving Santa cookies

The aftermath of Christmas morning!
Christmas was wonderful this year! We stayed here in Texas and had a sweet little Christmas Day just the 3 of us. My family: Dad, Donna, Maris and Paige arrived Christmas night about 10:30. It was a nice change to have them travel instead of us. We had my aunt and some cousins from the Robbins family over to our house the day after Christmas for some food and conversation. I just saw everyone at Thanksgiving but the rest of the family hadn't seen some of these guys in at least 3 years. It was a nice way to start off their visit.

Then on Saturday Ryan and I went to a gorgeous wedding and my parents and sisters babysat. I thoroughly enjoyed myself (all the dancing did a number on my legs!) and was very grateful to have a night just for grownups. The rest of the visit went pretty quickly. The family went in town for 2 nights to stay with friends and visit, and then they came back Tuesday night, and left New Year's Eve morning.

I had just enough time to straighten things up, take a nap, and then drop Maggie off to spend the night at YaYa's house (The Schrenk's). I was nervous about letting her have her first sleepover at 2, but I think it was more about being in the house without her than where she was (she loves them more than me sometimes!). We went to the Evrard's to help them celebrate their anniversary and have a great New Year's Eve party. Eden loves to do themes, and this year was come as your favorite Saturday Night Live character. I don't have a favorite, but Ryan went as Brian Fellows. They fed us fajitas, made some good drinks, and did a fireworks show. We love hanging out with them, and Ryan got to spend a lot of time this holiday season with my mommy friends. It is nice for him to get to know the people Maggie and I spend most of our time with.
